radio advert evaluation

Evaluation
In conclusion i believe that my advert meets all the goals and requirements that I have set for, the radio advert was  meant to inspire and motivate people to not give up and keep working harder and harder. The advert was also meant to persuade the listeners to buy the new product which is also mentioned in the advert at the end so the audience can remember what it is about. Not only did the advert include a variety of sound effects to make it more interesting, it also included a different slogan to the original one that Nike uses on a regular bases, the slogan was changed as I believed that it would have attracted and made the radio ad more interesting to the other viewers, the slogan also fit the entire advert as the advert is trying to say that you will "shock the world" with the new product and the slogan at the end was "Expect the unexpected" which is suggesting that if you buy the new boots the whole world will be surprised by the footballing ability you have gained.

The advert starts with a two sound effects overlapping each other, the sounds where players playing football and a man breathing heavily, this would have attracted many listeners as they would have been curious of what the advert is about, as the radio advert goes on a sound of a heart beat starts, to give the audience an idea of how what the advert is about. As the heavy breathing stops motivational music starts and so does the male voiceover, throughout the advert the motivational beat in the background goes higher and lower to make the advert more motivational and emotional. As the advert is coming to and end numerous amount of sound effects where used, the first sound that was used at the end of the advert was a ball being kicked I included the specific sound as it makes the audience imagine and feel as if they are on a football pitch wearing the new Nike product, another sound effects that I used where a ball hitting the back of the net, a referee blowing the whistle and the crowd cheering, this is all meant to suggest that you will be impeccable at football when you wear the new boots Nike have made. At the start of the advert a use of heart beat sound effect was included, the sound was used for the entire advert and as the advert carries on the heart beat gets faster and faster and on some occasions it went lower and lower.

When I asked a colleague for feedback he replied and said  that the advert was motivational and that the sound effects that where included in the advert made him feel as if he was at a football pitch wearing the boots, he also said that the advert was creative and inspirational to him and will probably be inspirational to the many people who will eventually listen to it. He also said including a motivational beat in the background was key to the advert as it will inspire and motivate many people who decide to give up and wont work hard for what they want. He also said that the male voiceover was convincing, inspirational and persuasive to the audience.

The advert did not match my original intensions as the original script only included two sound effects and did not include the motivational beat that I eventually used to make the advert, the changes where made as I believe that the original advert was not convincing and persuasive to the audience and did not have many sound effects to make the listener feel as if he was in a footballing environment.

Although I believe the advert was good and persuasive I also still believe that the advert could have included a male and a female voiceover to make the advert more interesting and increase the range of the target audience from mainly male to male and female, I also think i could've improved the use of sound bed to make the advert more intriguing and interesting.

Overall I believe that the advert did meat the criteria and goal I was hoping for which is to inspire and motivate the listeners and to make them buy the new football boots, I was also satisfied by the sound effects that where used as it sets the tone for the advert and also fits with the main story of the script.
